Named after the one-lane stretch of route 6A with no median or guardrails, “Suicide Alley” follows young people living on Cape Cod in the 2010s as they navigate the opioid epidemic.
Produced by Bodycool Media in collaboration with Big Tree, this project has received a fiscal sponsorship from the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod and will be developed in partnership with local healthcare organizations.
Production scheduled to begin in Spring 2027.
DIRECTOR’S STATEMENT:
Hello, my name is Michael. I attended DY high school in the mid- 2000s. At least a dozen of my classmates are dead from overdoses. I want to make a film about it.
Cape Cod deserves to be honestly depicted in a feature film. Suicide Alley will explore substance abuse, housing, healthcare, mental health, wealth disparity and the seasonal economy.
This film is for anyone who has lost a friend or a parent or a child and anyone whose life has been touched by opioids.
